BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 7. The ball will start rolling on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway at the end of October this year, Ryskulbek Zhumabaev, Head of the Capital Construction Department at Kyrgyzstan's National Railway Company (Kyrgyz Temir Zholu), told local radio, Trend reports.

Zhumabaev stressed that the Balykchy-Kochkor-Kara-Keche-Makmal railway and this project will be vital transportation arteries for the nation, and they are expected to address two major issues: developing Kyrgyzstan's internal railway network and overcoming its geographic isolation.

To recall, on June 6, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China signed an agreement to cooperate on the railroad project.

The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad is a strategic infrastructure project that will connect China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, creating a new overland transportation corridor between Central and East Asia. The total length of the future railroad will be 486 kilometers, with Kyrgyzstan accounting for 311.8 kilometers.
