BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 25. Kyrgyzstan imported 517.868 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia in 2024, which is a 33-percent increase compared to 389.274 million cubic meters during 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the value of these imports reached $77.680 million, reflecting a 33 percent increase from $58.391 million in the preceding year.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 548.818 million cubic meters of natural gas worth $82.322 million during the reported period. The volume increased by 25 percent year on year, and the value rose by the same percentage.

In addition to Russia, Kyrgyzstan imported 30.949 million cubic meters of natural gas from Uzbekistan, worth $4.642 million.

Meanwhile, the total trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan amounted to $16.041 billion last year, which is an increase of 0.9 percent compared to 2023. Exports reached $3.827 billion, increasing by 13.1 percent compared to the previous year. However, imports decreased by 2.4 percent, totaling $12.214 billion. Out of the country's total trade, 23.9 percent was export, and 76.1 percent was import.
