TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 16. Uzbekistan's imports of industrial goods amounted to $2.41 billion from January through May 2024, Trend reports.
According to Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, this figure has decreased by 0.8 percent during the same period last year ($2.43 billion in January–May 2023).
In total, the specific weight in the overall volume of imports reached 15.2 percent.
Russia ($889.7 million), China ($745.5 million), Kazakhstan ($269.5 million), Türkiye ($130.1 million), and South Korea ($65.5 million) are the top partners sending industrial products to Uzbekistan.
Imports of industrial goods are mostly composed of iron and steel ($1 billion), metal products ($336.7 million), textile yarn, textiles, ready-made items ($220 million), rubber products ($177.5 million), and others.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of imports amounted to $15.8 billion from January through May 2024, which is 3.2 percent more compared to the same period in 2023 ($15.3 billion in January–May 2023).
In the structure of imports, machinery and transportation equipment account for 37.3 percent, industrial goods for 15.2 percent, and chemicals and similar products for 12.3 percent.
