BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Iran's coal exports decreased by 7.7 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (March 21 through September 22, 2023).
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Customs Administration shows that Iran exported coal worth $12 million during the six months.
Iran's coal exports five years ago (from March 21 through March 19, 2020) amounted to $16.4 million.
Meanwhile, four years ago (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Iran's coal exports dropped 47 percent to $8.7 million.
Three years ago (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), coal exports increased 69 percent to $14.7 million.
Two years ago (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), coal exports increased 391 percent to $72 million.
However, Iran's coal exports decreased 63 percent to $16.4 million last year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
In total, for five years Iran mainly exported coal to Pakistan.
Moreover, Iran imported $155 million worth of coal during the six months. Imports of coal stone decreased by 54 percent compared to the same period last year.
To note, Iran exported 70 million tons of non-oil products worth $25.8 billion during the six months. Compared to the same period last year, the export of products increased by 6.5 percent in value and 3.5 percent in weight.
