BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. The Bushehr Petrochemical Company, located in the southern province of Bushehr, has produced nearly 3 million tons of petrochemical products during the nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024), Trend reports via the company's official portal.
Additionally, the company produced approximately 924,000 tons of sweet gas, 17,000 tons of sulfur, 300,000 tons of ethane, 536,000 tons of methane, 87,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and over 1.1 million tons of methanol during the reporting period.
In total, the company produced 1.22 million tons of finished products, with an equal amount of semi-finished products, and an additional 300,000 tons of ethane.
To note, founded in 2010, Iran’s Bushehr Petrochemical Company covers an area of 70 hectares. The company has the capacity to produce over 6.6 million tons of various petrochemical products annually.
Currently, Iran has 72 active petrochemical facilities with an annual production potential of 96 million tons of petrochemical products. The country plans to increase its petrochemical production capacity to 200 million tons within the next eight years, investing approximately $64 billion to achieve this goal.
