Pieces of bones found in second dig in Turkey

Twenty pieces of bones have been found on Monday during the early stage of second excavation in Turkey's Cizre, WorldBulletin reported.

Twenty pieces of bones have been found on Monday in an empty field during the early stage of second excavation in Turkey's Cizre, according to Turkish media.

Turkish officials said "the pieces of bones will be sent to forensic medicine to be analyzed."

The wells in Cizre, a town of Sırnak, a province in southeastern Turkey, are being excavated following the excavations in BOTAS wells at Silopi.

Excavations have begun in the village of Kustepe, which is enroute two towns, Cizre and Idil. No one is being allowed to the excavation area.

Upon a notification to chief public prosecutor of Cizre, caterpillars were demanded from Cizre Municipality. Many soldiers and police officials secured the area surrounding the village of Kustepe. Kustepe, which is 6 kms away from Cizre, had been deserted in 1991, ten years ago, 6 families have returned home.

According to the claims, their bodies were dumped into wells filled with acid or buried alongside the road linking Silopi and the nearby town on Cizre.

The excavations in Silopi ended after 5 days. They were made as part of the investigation of Silopi chief public prosecutor in order to discover whether or not people, killed in 90s, were buried in the wells.

In consequence of excavations, 17 bone parts, one of whom is a skull, and some pieces of clothes were found.

On the other hand, special forces team from Şırnak and police of Cizre carried out a raid to the house of former Mayor of Cizre, Kamil Atak. He was also former chief village guard, who protected his village against PKK attacks.
