ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 22. Turkmenistan's real gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to reach 2.3 percent in 2024, Trend reports via the latest World Economic Outlook report from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IMF's crystal ball for 2024 is still singing the same tune as it did back in April.

Additionally, the fund has also maintained its growth forecast for 2025, projecting a GDP increase of 2.3 percent.

The IMF anticipates that Turkmenistan’s real GDP will reach 2.2 percent by 2028.

In September 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate has consistently remained at 6.3 percent since the beginning of the year.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has forecasted Turkmenistan's GDP growth at 6.5 percent as of September 2024. The bank also forecasted a medium-term increase in gas exports, expected to contribute to a rise in the current account surplus in 2024 and 2025.
