BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13.​ Azerbaijan imported 3,640 kWh of electricity from Georgia in January of this year.

Data obtained by Trend from the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee indicates that the expenditure associated with the procurement of this volume of electrical energy amounted to $260.

Azerbaijan refrained from engaging in electricity importation from Georgia during the preceding January period.

In January of the current fiscal year, Azerbaijan executed an importation of 10.7 million kilowatt-hours of electrical energy, incurring a financial outlay of $290,000 for this quantum of electricity procurement.

In a year-over-year analysis, the metrics for electricity imports exhibited an uptick of 2.1 million kWh, translating to a 24 percent increase in volumetric terms, alongside a monetary escalation of $36,000, equating to a 14.2 percent enhancement in value metrics.

In the inaugural month of the preceding year, the importation metrics for electricity into Azerbaijan registered at 8.6 million kilowatt-hours, translating to a fiscal valuation of $254,000.

It is pertinent to highlight that in January of the current fiscal year, Azerbaijan engaged in the procurement of electrical energy from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Georgia, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
