ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. Kazakhstan has significantly increased its grain exports to Azerbaijan and Iran, Trend reports via the press service of Kazakhstan Railways.
According to the information, the volume of Kazakhstan's new crop grain exports from September 2024 through April 27, 2025, totaled 7.5 million tons, which is 56 percent more than the same period of the 2023/2024 agricultural year.
"The volume of exports to Iran increased 16-fold — from 54,000
tons to 871,000 tons, and Azerbaijan — 111-fold, from 5,000 tons to
557,000 tons," the information notes.
Kazakhstan Railways also noted a steady growth in the supply of
Kazakhstani grain to Central Asia and the Middle East.
Exports to Uzbekistan increased by 29.7 percent, from 2.0 million
tons to 2.7 million tons, to Tajikistan by 50 percent, from 718,000
tons to 1.076 million tons, to Afghanistan by 33.8 percent, from
201,000 tons to 269,000 tons, and to Kyrgyzstan doubled, from
88,000 tons to 178,000 tons.
In December 2024, Kazakhstan exported 101,000 tons of grain to Azerbaijan, a significant increase compared to previous months. The total volume of grain exports to Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to 210,000 tons.
