ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. Kazakhstan's renewable energy facilities (RES) power generation growth in the first quarter of 2025 reached 11.4 percent, Trend reports.
According to information, Kazakhstan saw an increase in key indicators in the renewable energy sector.
"As of the end of the reporting period, the total installed capacity of renewable energy facilities reached 3082.12 MW, including: wind power plants – 1570.05 MW; solar power plants – 1222.61 MW; small hydropower plants – 287.685 MW; bioelectric power plants – 1.77 MW," emphasized the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
The ministry also highlighted that the total volume of electricity produced by renewable energy facilities amounted to 1961.6 million kWh, of which: 1417.19 million kWh was produced by wind power plants; 373.503 million kWh by solar power plants; 170.253 million kWh by small hydropower plants; and 0.652 million kWh by bioelectric power plants.
The share of renewable energy in the total electricity production in the country was 5.93 percent.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the electricity production at renewable energy facilities grew by 11.4 percent, reflecting the steady development of the renewable energy sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
