TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 29. Uzbekneftegaz JSC, KazMunayGas (KMG) JSC, PJSC Tatneft, and SOCAR have signed a four-party Agreement on Cooperation in Decarbonization and Sustainable Initiatives, Trend reports.
The agreement aims to strengthen joint efforts to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainable energy solutions, and implement environmentally friendly technologies across the oil and gas industry.
The signing ceremony took place in Astana as part of an official visit by a delegation from JSC Uzbekneftegaz, led by Chairman of the Management Board Bakhodirjon Sidikov. In addition to signing the agreement, the delegation also participated in the Astana International Forum, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ongoing partnership between Uzbekneftegaz and KazMunayGas continues to advance, entering a new phase of strategic development. Their cooperation now encompasses a broad range of areas, including geological exploration, development of the gas chemical industry, localization of production, and the deployment of innovative and environmentally responsible technologies.
All sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration and launching new joint initiatives, underscoring the strategic importance of their partnership for the sustainable development of the energy sectors in both countries.
The event also served as a valuable platform for bilateral meetings between the Uzbekneftegaz delegation and senior representatives of Tatneft and SOCAR. During these discussions, the parties reviewed the status of ongoing projects and outlined potential areas for future cooperation, including exploration, gas chemical development, technological innovation, and sustainable energy solutions.
The visit highlighted the high level of trust and alignment between the national energy companies and marked a significant step in strengthening regional energy cooperation amid the ongoing global energy transition.
