BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Azerbaijan has imported 81.1 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity from January through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Energy indicates that this figure reflects a decrease of 15.3 million kWh, or 15.9 percent, compared to the same period last year (96.4 million kWh).
Operational data shows that total electricity production in Azerbaijan during this period reached 13,849.3 million kWh — an increase of 2.2 percent or 291.5 million kWh year-on-year.
Meanwhile, thermal power plants (TPP) produced 11,519.2 million kWh during this period, hydroelectric power plants (HPP) generated 1,860 million kWh, and other sources contributed 470.1 million kWh. Among the other sources, wind power stations generated 21.0 million kWh, solar power stations 314.6 million kWh, and the Solid Household Waste Incineration Plant 134.5 million kWh.
