BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Azerbaijan exported 3,832 tons of oil bitumen, generating $1 million in revenue from January through June 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this figure reached $1 million in the first half of the year. Compared to the same period of the previous year, export volumes increased by 3,344 tons, a rise of 7.9 times, while the export value grew by $910,000, or 11.1 times. For comparison, in the first six months of last year, Azerbaijan exported 488 tons of petroleum bitumen worth $90,000.
The volume of oil bitumen exports accounted for 0.01 percent of Azerbaijan’s total exports in the reporting period. During this time, 115,300 tons of oil bitumen were produced domestically, slightly up from the 115,000 tons produced in the first half of the previous year. As of July 1, the country’s inventory of ready oil bitumen stood at 13,000 tons.
Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade reached $24.4 billion, up by $2.6 billion, or 12.1 percent, from January through June 2025 compared to a year earlier. In the first half of last year, the country’s trade volume stood at $21.7 billion. Of this year’s total, $12.8 billion accounted for exports, while imports amounted to $11.5 billion. Over the past year, export volumes saw a slight decline of 0.2 percent, whereas imports rose significantly by 29.9 percent.
