About 700 kilometres of new roads on the Western Europe - Western China project will be put into operation in 2012, head of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Asset Isekeshev said at a governmental meeting on Tuesday.
"There are 11 major projects," he said. "A working group was created on each of them with five already included in the industrialisation map."
Moreover, the construction of the Balkhash heat and power plant gas and chemical complex will be launched this year.
The construction of the complex on deep oil processing at the Atyrau refinery will begin in the second quarter of 2012. After a complex worth $ 1.7 billion is commissioned, petrol production will nearly triple up to 1.7 million tons and diesel fuel up to 1.4 million tons. This will provide Kazakhstan's fuel needs. A tourist centre at Burabai will be built in 2012.
