Groupe Renault, French multinational automobile manufacturer hopes to increase its presence in Iran, Trend learned from Renault.
A source in the company said that in 2017, Renault has increased its market share in Iran by 2.4 points to 10.8 percent.
“Depending on the political and economic contexts, we will see how the market will be in 2018 and in the coming up years. Iran is an important pillar country for the Groupe Renault and we hope to increase our presence in Iran in terms of production and sales,” noted the source.
The source pointed out that Renault is operating in Iran since 2004 and with respect to all international regulations, Groupe Renault is committed to the countries that it operates in.
“This long-term presence has created infrastructures of success. With ease of economic restrictions, Renault Pars managed to increase production in Iran in the last two years. Moreover, customers are now more quality oriented and that is why Renault products are more popular,” said the company representative.
Further, talking about the most popular Renault cars in Iran, the source said that Tondar90 is the best seller, followed by Sandero and Sandero Stepway, however the highest demand is on Sandero Stepway.
“Moreover, all our produced cars in Iran are being recognized as best quality cars and best in customer satisfaction in their range by local assessments. (Renault products are placed at the top 5 in ISQI reports),” added the source.
Regarding Renault’s income from car sales in Iran as of 2017, the source said this information is not available now.
Renault sales in Iran’s car market registered a rise by 49.33 percent in 2017 compared to preceding year, the company said in its latest monthly sale statistics.
The carmaker has sold 162,079 units in Iran in 2017 compared to 108,536 cars sold in Iran’s market in Jan-Dec. 2016.
