Iran's car production drops

According to statistics, the production of various cars in Iran dropped by 47.2 percent during the first month of the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to a report issued by the Iran Vehicle Manufactures Association.

According to the report, 42,623 cars were produced last month, while 80,794 cars were produced during the same period last year.

Production of vans dropped by 100 percent, while 74 vans were produced during the same period last year. According to statistics, the production of minibuses dropped by 92 percent, with 7 units produced. Meanwhile, 74 minibuses were produced during the same period last year.

There was also a 91.2-percent decrease in the production of buses, with only 5 buses having been manufactured, while 57 buses were produced during the same period last year.

Also, some 93 units of large, small and trailer trucks were produced last month. This figure stood at 679 units during the same period last year, which indicates an 86.3-percent decline.

Furthermore, 40,603 units of cars were produced last month, with 76,807 units having been produced during the same period last year, which is indicative of a 47.1-percent decline.

The production of pickup trucks experienced the least decline. While 3,090 pickup trucks were produced during the first month of the previous year, 1,916 pickup trucks were produced during the same period of this year, indicating a 38-percent decrease.
