Over the first six months (March 21-Sept. 21) of this Iranian year (began in March 21, 2019), Iran’s exports in value terms decreased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year, Director General of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Zadboom, Trend reports via IRINN.
Zadboom said that during the reporting period, products worth $20.948 billion were exported, adding that product exports in weight terms increased by 22 percent.
“Over the six months, Iran’s imports of products amounted to $21.221 billion,” Zadboom said. “Imports decreased in value terms by 5.5 percent and increased in weight terms by 0.5 percent.”
Zadboom added that mainly petrochemical products, gas condensate and metals are exported, while rice, corn and press cake are imported.
The top five countries to which Iranian products are exported include China, Iraq, Turkey and the UAE, and the top five countries from which Iran imports the most include China, the UAE, Turkey, India and Germany.
