BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Iran's imports from Georgia decreased by 62.8 percent in value and 41.2 percent in volume, during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
As reflected in the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran imported a total of 7,440 tons of goods worth $18.6 million from Georgia in 3 months.
Meanwhile, Iran's imports from Georgia amounted to 12,600 tons worth $50 million in the same period of the last Iranian year.
Within 3 months, agricultural products, timber, various types of equipment and spare parts, and so on were the main goods imported by Iran from Georgia.
In the 3rd month of the current Iranian year alone (May 22 through June 21, 2023), Iran imported nearly 2,430 tons of goods worth approximately $7.58 million from Georgia.
Overall, Iran imported 9.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $14 billion within the first three months of the current Iranian year.
This is an increase of 5.79 percent in value and 1 percent in volume compared to the same period in the last year.
