BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Tire production in Iran decreased by 2.8 percent during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, a total of 7.92 million tires for various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses, and so on) were produced in Iran over the course of four months, compared to 8.15 million during the same period the previous Iranian year.
Within four months, the country manufactured 7.02 million passenger car tires, a 2.2 percent decline from 7.18 million units in the same period last year.
In addition, 483,000 pickup truck tires were produced within the county in four months. This represents a 6.4 percent reduction from 516,000 units in the same period last year.
Furthermore, 248,000 bus tires were produced in the country during the reporting period, a 4.14 percent decline from the nearly 259,000 units produced in the first four months of the previous Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022).
Meanwhile, over the period of four months, Iran produced approximately 152,000 tires for agricultural gear. This represents a 17.4% decline from 184,000 units in the same period last year.
At the same time, 16,600 tires for paving machines and vehicles used in other industries were produced in the country within the mentioned period, which is an increase of 52 percent compared to 10,900 units in the same period last year.
For the first four months of the current Iranian year, 442,686 different vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-up trucks, buses and minibuses, vans, lorries, trailers, and so on) were produced in Iran. This is a 30% increase over the same period previous year.
