Kazakhstan is interested in attracting Azerbaijani investments in implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), Trend reports via the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan gives high priority to the development of the renewable energy sector and expects to achieve the target indicators in this area provided for by the Concept of Kazakhstan's transition to a "green economy", the Ministry said.

"Our countries have launched various projects in the field of oil and gas, subsurface use and a number of other areas. However, there is no cooperation in the field of renewable energy and we are interested in attracting Azerbaijani investments for implementation of projects in this area," the ministry added.

Kazakhstan has created favorable conditions at the legislative level for the development of the renewable energy sector.

The conditions include guaranteed access to points of connection to electric networks and guaranteed purchase. Thus, a special settlement and financial center will buy electricity from suppliers.

Exemption from customs duties of imported technological equipment and components to it, and no license requirement for the production of renewable energy are included as well.
