BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced 58.3 billion manat ($34.2 billion) worth of products from January through November 2024 (1.1 percent growth year-on-year).
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee shows that in the reporting period of 2024, the production indicator in the oil and gas sector grew by 0.6 percent, while in the non-oil sector it grew by 7.2 percent compared to the same period of 2023.
Meanwhile, the mining sector accounted for 64.4 percent of the industrial output, the manufacturing sector accounted for 29.8 percent, the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam accounted for 4.8 percent, and the water, waste treatment, and recycling sector accounted for one percent.
Moreover, the production of commercial oil in Azerbaijan in the reporting period of 2024 decreased by 3.9 percent, and production of commercial gas increased by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of 2023.
In the manufacturing sector, the production of pharmaceutical products doubled, the production of cars, trailers, and semi-trailers increased by 56.6 percent, furniture production - 40.5 percent, the production of finished metal products - 35.7 percent, electrical equipment production - 29.6 percent, the production of clothing - 28.6 percent, woodworking and wood products production - 23.3 percent, metallurgical industry production - 21.7 percent, production of rubber and plastic products - 17.7 percent, beverage production -16.2 percent, production of building materials - 15.6 percent, food production - 9.3 percent, tobacco production - 8 percent, the production of leather and leather goods, footwear - 7.6 percent, paper and cardboard production - 7.1 percent, the production of computer, electronic and optical products - 7.1 percent, chemical industry production - 6 percent, and the production of other industrial products increased by 1.3 percent.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the installation and repair of machinery and equipment decreased by 3.7 percent, the production of petroleum products - 5.7 percent, the production of the textile industry - by 6.4 percent, the production of printing products - 25.4 percent, the production of machinery and equipment - 46.1 percent, and the production of other vehicles - 52.9 percent.
In the reporting period, production in the sector of generation, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam decreased by 0.9 percent, and in the sector of water supply, treatment, and waste processing increased by 7.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
To note, industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan produced 66.6 billion manat ($39.1 billion) worth of products in 2023.
