BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. The creation of a regional center for transport diplomacy in Tajikistan's Dushanbe stimulates the development of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA), Secretary General Asset Asavbayev said, TRACECA's press service told Trend.
According to him, the establishment of the regional center will also have a positive impact on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the promotion of multimodal transport, which is especially important for the TRACECA corridor, which actively uses cargo transportation by several modes of transport due to its geographical extent from the countries of Central Asia to the countries of the EU through two seas.
"The permanent secretariat is ready to collaborate on new solutions and logistics proposals both from the research side and from their practical application," Asavbayev stressed.
Under the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development of the UN ECOSOC, a parallel event dedicated to the establishment of a regional center for transport diplomacy in Dushanbe was held in the online conference mode in New York on July 12, 2023.
According to the available data, the event presented Tajikistan's initiative to establish a regional center for transport diplomacy in Dushanbe in order to achieve strong global partnerships and cooperation under the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development of the SDGs.
TRACECA program, an international transport program, which includes the EU and 12 Eastern European countries, Caucasus, and Central Asia, is aimed at strengthening economic relations, trade, and transport links.
