Kazakhstan boosts trade turnover with EU countries

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 4. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with EU countries amounted to $11.1 billion from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover increased by 5.7 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($10.5 billion).

At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to the EU countries for the above period amounted to $8.7 billion, which is 9 percent more than January–March 2023 ($8.01 billion).

In addition, imports from the EU countries from January through March 2024 decreased by 4.9 percent and amounted to $2.39 billion. From January through March 2023, imports amounted to $2.51 billion.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the EU countries amounted to $42.6 billion from January through December 2023, which is 1.7 percent more than in 2022.

Exports to the EU countries for the above period amounted to $31.7 billion, and imports from the EU countries amounted to $10.9 billion.
