ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 27. The volume of passenger car production in Kazakhstan amounted to 57,055 units from January through June 2024, which is 14.3 percent less than the same period of last year (66,551 units), Trend reports, citing the country's Bureau of National Statistics.
In June alone, 5,467 units of passenger cars were produced, against 13,295 units in the same month of 2023. Production volumes decreased by 58.9 percent.
At the same time, Kazakhstan also reduced its truck production. Thus, from January through June 2024, 3,590 units of trucks were produced in Kazakhstan, while in the first half of 2023, this figure was 4,722 units.
In addition, in June alone, 688 trucks were produced in Kazakhstan, which is also lower than the same month in 2023 (858 units).
Meanwhile, the volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan amounted to 23.5 trillion tenge (about $49.2 billion) from January through June 2024. In the mining industry, production amounted to 10.75 trillion tenge, or about $22.5 billion (45.7 percent of the total), and in the manufacturing industry, it was 11 trillion tenge, or about $23 billion (46.1 percent).
At the same time, from January through May 2024, the industrial production index (IPI) in Kazakhstan amounted to 102.8 percent.
