TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 12. Central Bank of Uzbekistan issued a license for Kazakhstan's Eurasian Bank JSC, Trend reports.
According to the press office of Uzbekistan's Central Bank, the bank's Board of Directors approved the registration of Eurasian Bank in Tashkent and the issuance of a license to conduct banking services.
In May 2023, Uzbekistan's Central Bank granted Kazakhstan's Eurasian Bank preliminary authorization to establish a subsidiary in the country. The subsidiary organization was scheduled to begin operations before the end of the year.
The Kazakhstan Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market has permitted Eurasian Bank to operate in Uzbekistan by the end of 2022.
There are now 36 banks in Uzbekistan. Three of these banks have received licenses in the last year: Yangi Bank (in May), Apex Bank, and Hayot Bank (in March).
