TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 20. Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover volume amounted to $42.7 billion from January through August 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistics Agency shows that this figure has increased by 6.7 percent year-on-year ($40 billion in January-August 2023).
Uzbekistan's exports reached $17.3 billion from January through August 2024, while imports amounted to $25.3 billion.
During this stretch, the trade turnover volume with China was the highest, at $8 billion. Russia came in a close second with a hefty trade turnover of $7.7 billion, while Kazakhstan trailed behind with a respectable $2.6 billion.
As to the country's regions, the city of Tashkent accounts for the largest amount of trade turnover, at $16.7 billion, followed by the Tashkent region ($3.7 billion) and the Andijan region ($2.6 billion) during this period.
Meanwhile, the foreign trade turnover volume of Uzbekistan reached $36.8 billion from January through July 2024. This indicator has increased by 5.4 percent year-on-year ($34.9 billion in January-July 2023).
The nation's exports reached $14.7 billion, while imports totaled $22 billion.
