TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 4. Uzbekistan exported 303,200 tons of onions worth $59.1 million from January through August 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that the volume of onion exports increased by 18.1 percent compared to the same period last year (256,700 tons of onions from January through August 2023).
Moreover, the volume of onion exports from Uzbekistan in August 2024 decreased significantly to 4,500 tons compared to 31,300 tons in July 2024.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan exported 1.3 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $922.8 million from January through August 2024. This figure increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year (1.2 million tons from January through August 2023).
Exports of fruit and vegetable products accounted for 5.3 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.
