The Swedish carmaker Volvo has denied having any relations with the Iranian assembly factory Afra Motor – which used to act as a local representative of Volvo in Iran, according to Yadollah Sadeqi, the supervisor of the Department of Economic and Trade Affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.
Volvo recently sent a letter and asked the Iranian government to delete Afra Motor from the list of companies that act as Volvo’s representatives, Sadeqi told a press conference, Trend correspondent reported January 16.
On January 8, news outlets said the working permit of Afra Motor had been cancelled until further notice. The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade took the measure following complaints from customers who claim that the company refused to offer after-sales services. The company's work permit was set to be valid up until March 2020.
Reports a few days ago said Sadeqi had written a letter to Afra Motor that the ban on the company’s activities had been lifted.
