Iran exported $5,079.5 million worth of services during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Aug. 22), according to a report released by the country’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO).
Iran’s services exports registered a rise by 11.1 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.
Tourism sector revenues stood at $3.38 billion, registering a fall by 1.1 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile the country’s Tourism sector brought $8.32 billion worth of income to the country in the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 201), which was 11 percent more, on a yearly basis.
Iran’s technical and engineering services export stood at $345 million in the 5-month period, registering a huge rise by 1050 percent.
The country’s revenues through road transit stood at $1,024.7 million (a 23.6 percent increase), followed by air transportation ($158.9 million, a 10.5 percent increase), marine transportation ($123.7 million, a 1.9 percent increase) and railway ($47.2 million, a 52.8 percent increase).
Iran’s total transit revenues increased by 20.4 percent to 1,354.5 million in the 5-month period.
Iran plans to increase the value of the services provided to other countries to $30 billion by 2021.
