The agricultural products’ export of Iran registered a significant rise by 52 percent in terms of volume during the current fiscal year, started March 20, 2018.
The country exported 1.694 million tons of agricultural products in the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 20-July 21), according to the data, released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
The value of the exported agricultural products was $1,101 million in the 4-month period, 35 percent more year-on-year.
The industry sector products had the largest share among Iran’s non-oil exports during the first four months of the current fiscal year. The Islamic Republic exported $7,281 million worth of industrial products during the period, equal to 47 percent of country’s overall non-oil exports including gas condensates.
The value of the industrial exports witnessed a rise by 42 percent, year-on-year, which was the highest growth among the sub-sectors of Iran’s non-oil economy.
The Islamic Republic exported 15.59 million tons of industrial products, indicating a rise by 24 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.
The mining sector registered highest fall among the sub-sectors of Iran’s non-oil economy in the current fiscal year in terms of value of exports.
Iran exported $450 million worth of mineral products during the 4-month period, registering a 24 percent decrease year-on-year.
In the meantime, the volume of the exports (7.74 million tons) was 12 percent less compared to the same period of the preceding year.
The petrochemical products ranked second among Iran’s non-oil exports in the period. During the 4-month period, Iran’s petrochemical exports increased by 0.9 percent to $4,642 million.
Meanwhile the volume of petrochemical exports registered a fall by 8 percent to 8.79 million tons in the same span of time.
Iran exported 3.58 million tons of gas condensate, worth $1,864 million, which, compared to the same period last year, indicates a 37 percent decrease in terms of volume and 16 percent fall in terms of value.
The Islamic Republic also exported $112 million worth of hand-made carpets and handicrafts in the first four months of the current fiscal year, 16 percent more year-on-year.
In the 4-month period, Iran’s total non-oil exports, which include gas condensate as well, stood at $15.45 billion, which indicates a 15 percent rise.
