( Macedoniaonline ) - Image Mentioning of Skopje - Athens dispute over Macedonia's name and calling for its settlement in the European Parliament's report on the country, adopted yesterday, was not unexpected, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told journalists on Thursday.

- It is not unexpected. Six months before the NATO Summit I said in several occasions that the name issue was becoming one and only obstacle to our ( Macedonia's) accession to NATO. It is obvious that it will be the case with the country's EU-integration, Gruevski said after his meeting with businessmen in the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.

The Government will keep making efforts for resolving the problem without crossing the red line, Gruevski said. The European Parliament adopted Wednesday the report on Macedonia, which states that the country has made progress regarding its EU integration and that the name dispute with Greece shouldn't obstruct Macedonia's EU accession process. The report by Dutch MEP Erik Meijer was adopted by 601 votes in favour, 52 against and 30 in abstention.
