The Hungarian National Innovation Office and Centre for Scientific Innovations of Azerbaijan have reached an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of innovations and scientific technologies, the Azerbaijani Centre for Scientific Innovations said on Jan.28.
The parties will cooperate in the implementation of scientific and innovative projects and mutually inform each other about third party projects such as Azerbaijan as a CIS member and Hungary as an EU member.
The cooperation also envisages the organisation of experience sharing between researchers of the two countries, association of joint courses for increasing the qualifications of specialists in innovation technology expert commission and exchange of information on innovative technology between scientific and research bodies in Azerbaijan and the EU member states.
Moreover, the Hungarian side expressed its readiness to support Azerbaijan in connecting to the Enterprise Europe Network-EEN and promotion of Azerbaijani projects within Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union on scientific research and innovation.
The main priorities of the Horizon 2020 programme is the increasing the level of scientific research ensuring the competitiveness of science and attraction of investments in key industrial technologies for their further entrance to world markets.
The programme envisages allocation of various grants not only in the sphere of information technology. There are various scientific priorities and participation of Azerbaijani scientists in them would be useful.
The results of formation of a consortium of Azerbaijani and European scientific and research institutes for further cooperation within joint projects in ICT sphere will be known in April.
Creation of a consortium with European companies will allow Azerbaijani scientists to have the right to participate in EU tenders for financing the research and innovation within the Horizon 2020 programme.
