Konirova / MPs of the Astana Maslikhat (Council) proposed to award order of "Labor Hero of Kazakhstan" to Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, for removing the capital of the country to another city and his merits in the development of the capital city, a source at the Maslikhat said.
"During tough period in the country, the President made a historical decision to remove the capital city to Astana which became one of the basic factors to the development of the country," the source said.
MPs consider that this order will be indicative of reverence and national gratitude, the report says. Earlier, Gasim-Jomart Tokayev, speaker of the senate of the Parliament, advanced the proposal to honor Nazarbayev with the order of "Labor Hero of Kazakhstan".
This state order will be honored for the great contributions in the economical and socio-humanitarian development of the republic. Those, honored with the title of "Labor Hero of Kazakhstan" will be honored with a special sign of "Gold Star" and order of "Otan"
