BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 4. On December 4, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Trend reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The current state and prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) were discussed at the meeting. The recent intensification of high-level contacts between the parties was noted with satisfaction, and the importance of maintaining the sustainability and productivity of this dynamic was emphasized.

The importance of intensifying efforts and dialogue within the existing mechanisms between the parties was emphasized.

The parties exchanged views on activities aimed at expanding cooperation in the areas of energy security, transport and communications, and trade and economic cooperation.

Azerbaijan's role in ensuring the energy security of the European Union and its contribution in this context were highly appreciated, and projects implemented in the field of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and electricity exports were also discussed.

The importance of the steps taken to expand infrastructure capabilities on existing routes and create new routes in order to increase and diversify the region's transport and communications potential was noted.

The other side was informed about regional security issues, post-conflict realities in the South Caucasus region, measures taken by Azerbaijan to ensure lasting peace and stability, as well as the latest developments and expectations regarding the peace agenda implemented by the country.

Other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna.

The parties welcomed the positive progress in high-level contacts.

Moreover, the meeting deliberated on the augmentation of collaborative synergies across various domains, such as energy security, transport and connectivity, trade, and the "green transition."

The minister also briefed Kallas on regional developments, including Azerbaijan's efforts to promote lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
