BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries from January through April 2024 exceeded $1.9 billion, and its share in the total foreign trade turnover amounted to 14.06 percent, Trend reports.
During the reporting period of 2024, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries decreased by 10.33 percent, or $220.8 million year-on-year.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last year, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries amounted to $2.1 billion.

Additionally, it should be noted that Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through April 2024 decreased by 23.76 percent, or $4.2 billion, compared to the indicator for the same period in 2023 (from $17.8 billion to $13.6 billion).
Exports accounted for $8.1 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $4.4 billion, or 35.09 percent less than the figure for the same period last year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 59.92 percent, up from 70.37 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports in the reporting period increased year-on-year by $166.9 million, or 3.15 percent, from $5.2 billion to about $5.4 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 40.08 percent, up from 29.63 percent a year earlier.
Consequently, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive during the review period, declined year-on-year by over $4.5 billion, or 62.9 percent, to $2.7 billion against $7.2 billion in the 2023 review period.
