BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) exported 43.8 million tons of oil from its marine terminal during the period from January through August 2024, Trend reports.

According to a CPC report, some 405 tankers were loaded. This marks an increase compared to the same period of 2023, when 42.7 million tons were loaded onto 391 tankers.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest energy infrastructure projects in the CIS region, involving significant foreign investment. Stretching 1,511 kilometers from the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan to the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea, the pipeline transports more than two-thirds of Kazakhstan’s oil exports, along with crude from Russian fields, including those located in the Caspian region.

Equipped with three Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems, CPC’s marine terminal ensures safe loading operations, even in challenging weather conditions, far from the shore. This advanced infrastructure allows the CPC to maintain a steady flow of oil exports, vital for both Kazakhstan and Russia.

CPC’s shareholder structure includes a mix of major international and state-owned companies: Russia’s Federal Agency for State Property Management (Transneft) holds 24%, Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas has a 19% share, Chevron owns 15%, LUKARCO holds 12.5%, and other stakeholders include Rosneft-Shell, ExxonMobil, Eni, and BG Overseas Holdings.
