BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. The total loan investment in the trade and services sector in Azerbaijan amounted to 4 billion manat ($2.4 billion) as of February 1 of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this figure decreased by 78 million manat ($45.9 million) or 1.9 percent, in monthly terms, but increased by 567.4 million manat ($333.9 million) or 16.2 percent compared to January 2024.
During the reporting month, 3.9 billion manat ($2.3 billion) of the loan investments in the trade and services sector came from banks, and 76.4 million manat ($44.9 million) came from non-banking institutions.
In total, the loan portfolio for the real sector in Azerbaijan amounted to 29.3 billion manat ($17.3 billion).
This represents an increase of 37.1 million manat ($21.8 million) or 0.1 percent on a monthly basis, and an increase of five billion manat ($2.9 billion) or 20.4 percent compared to January 2024.
