BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 5. The volume of deposits made in banks from the Karabakh economic region amounted to 91.7 million manat ($53.9 million) by the end of February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure shows a slight decrease of 112,000 manat ($65,882), or 0.12 percent, compared to the end of January.
At the end of January, 91.8 million manat ($54 million) had been deposited into banks from the Karabakh economic zone.
Moreover, deposits made in banks from the East Zangezur economic region totaled 439,000 manat ($258,235) by the end of February 2025, which is a decrease of 64,000 manat ($37,647), or 12.7 percent, compared to the same period last year. At the end of January, the volume of deposits from the East Zangezur economic region was 503,000 manat ($295,882).
To note, the total deposits in Azerbaijan's regions amounted to nearly 14.8 billion manat ($8.7 billion) by the end of February, which is an increase of 137 million manat ($80.5 million), or 0.93 percent, compared to the previous month. At the end of January, the total deposits in the regions were about 14.7 billion manat ($8.6 billion).
