ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. In Astana, Deputy Chairman of "Kazakh Invest" Madiyar Sultanbek and Director of South Korean Microbus Co., Ltd. Oh Young Soo put pen to paper on a memorandum of understanding to pave the way for collaboration in infrastructure, energy, and industrial production, Trend reports.
During the discussions, the spotlight was shone on the establishment of an industrial hub for manufacturing electrical engineering products in the city of Zhezkazgan. Additionally, various projects in the realms of electric power, telecommunications, logistics, ICT, and data centers were also on the table.
“The parties expressed mutual interest in establishing a high-tech production cluster targeting both the domestic market and exports to the EAEU, EU, and Asian countries. Highlighting Kazakhstan’s potential as a platform for such initiatives, representatives of Microbus Co., Ltd. announced their intention to develop a project for manufacturing electrical goods — including cable products and components for infrastructure — using Kazakhstani raw materials such as copper, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals,” said a statement from the Kazakh Invest.
During the meeting, Sultanbek emphasized the importance of strategic projects involving international technology partners for Kazakhstan’s industrial development.
“The projects we are discussing with Microbus align with our strategic focus — the creation of new industrial zones, development of domestic processing, and formation of export-oriented production. Kazakhstan offers a stable platform with access to key markets, a strong resource base, and investment incentives. We are ready to support projects from concept to launch,” he noted.
Microbus Co., Ltd.’s projects also include elements of sustainable energy and digital transformation, including potential data center development and smart city solutions. The signing of the memorandum marked the first step toward formalizing a future partnership.
JSC "NC "Kazakh Invest" will provide comprehensive support to the company in identifying industrial sites, interacting with government authorities, and attracting additional partners for project implementation.
