BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. Azerbaijan exported petroleum coke worth $15.3 million, totaling 48,600 tons, from January through April 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that
this revenue signifies a 2.3x escalation relative to the
corresponding timeframe of 2024, notwithstanding a 40.1%
contraction, equating to 32,600 tons, in export throughput.
During this timeframe, petroleum coke constituted a mere 0.17
percent of Azerbaijan's aggregate export portfolio.
Concurrently, the exportation of petroleum bitumen experienced
significant escalation, with revenue surging to $582,000 from a
shipment volume of 2,200 tons. This denotes a 12.7x escalation in
valuation and an 8.8x amplification in throughput relative to the
preceding fiscal year.
Moreover, the contribution of bitumen exports to the nation's
aggregate export metrics was a marginal 0.01 percent.
