ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 5. Delegations from QazaqGaz and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) held talks on further developing their partnership, Trend reports.
The meeting was attended by Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz, and Zhang Pingxian, Deputy General Director of the Development and Planning Department of CNPC.
The parties discussed plans to expand cooperation, with particular attention given to promising projects in gas exploration and production. The discussion focused on joint development of new fields and strategies to increase the gas resource base in Kazakhstan.
Moreover, joint projects will help strengthen energy security, ensure stable gas supplies both domestically and to external markets, and accelerate the introduction of modern technologies in exploration and production. The parties also discussed approaches to expanding the resource potential of Kazakhstan’s gas sector and possible directions for deepening cooperation.

CNPC continues to serve as a pivotal strategic ally for QazaqGaz,
diligently advancing gas initiatives within the region.
