BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Consumers in Azerbaijan purchased around 3.04 billion manat ($1.78 billion) worth of textiles, clothing, and footwear from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that this figure grew by 4.3 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Textiles, clothing, and footwear accounted for 13 percent of total retail trade turnover during this period.
Overall, 23.3 billion manat ($13.7 billion) worth of goods were sold in retail, including 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion) in food, beverages, and tobacco, and 10.3 billion manat ($6 billion) in non-food products. Compared to the first five months of 2024, total retail turnover rose by 3.8 percent, with food-related sales up 1.6 percent and non-food sales growing 6.5 percent.
