BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29. The volume of loans extended by banks and non-bank institutions operating in Azerbaijan to the trade and service sector reached 4.2 billion manat ($2.48 billion) as of July 1, 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows that this figure increased by 24.3 million manat ($14.3 million), or 0.6 percent, compared to the previous month, and by 86.1 million manat ($50.8 million), or 2.1 percent, year-on-year.
To note, the loan portfolio directed to the real sector of the economy stood at around 30.2 billion manat ($17.7 billion) during the reporting period, while overdue loans amounted to 527.4 million manat ($310.2 million).
This reflects a monthly increase of 43 million manat ($25.2 million), or 0.1 percent, in the total loan portfolio, and a year-on-year growth of 3.2 billion manat ($1.8 billion), or 12 percent, compared to the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, the volume of overdue loans rose by 19.1 million manat ($11.2 million), or 3.8 percent month-on-month, and by 75.7 million manat ($44.5 million), or 16.8 percent year-on-year.
