TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 22. Uzbekistan generated 49.39 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-July 2025, marking a 3.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Committee.
Large enterprises, however, reduced their electricity output by 14.58 percent, producing 36.62 billion kilowatt-hours, while small businesses significantly increased production to 12.77 billion kilowatt-hours - 2.53 times higher than in the first seven months of 2024.
At the same time, thermal energy generation at large enterprises fell to 12.41 million gigacalories, down 11.7 percent from the same period last year.
The growth in electricity production reflects the expanding role of small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan’s power sector, alongside ongoing adjustments in thermal energy output.
