BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 6. Passenger car production by Iran Khodro Automobile Company (IKCO) increased by 2 percent, or 3,820 units, in the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through August 21, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from a report published by Codal.ir, a comprehensive database under Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization, shows that the company produced 201,220 passenger cars during the reporting period. In comparison, the company had produced 197,395 units in the same period last year.
The report further notes that during this period, the company manufactured 62,900 units of “Peugeot,” 54,500 units of “Soren,” 31,900 units of “Dena,” 30,200 units of “Tara,” 8,870 units of “Haima,” 3,790 units of “Runna,” and 8,920 units of other passenger car models.
A comprehensive analysis disseminated by Codal.ir indicates that the triad of principal automotive manufacturers in Iran—Iran Khodro (IKCO), SAIPA, and Pars Khodro—culminated in the production of an aggregate of 316,079 passenger vehicles throughout the specified timeframe. This signifies a contraction of 17.2 percent in the output of passenger vehicles relative to the corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year.
