KNAUF GIPS BUKHARA LLC, a partner company of Germany's Knauf Gips KG in Uzbekistan, plans to increase the production of gypsum mixtures, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
For this purpose, the company's investment program for 2019-2020 has included the construction of a second gypsum production facility and launch an additional line of gypsum mixtures.
"In 2019, KNAUF sold 110,000 tons of gypsum mixtures, which is 29 percent more than in 2018. Analysts predict that this year's sales volume will reach 130,000 tons. In order to meet the growing demand for quality materials, company decided to reinvest 2.2 million euros in the production of gypsum mixtures in Uzbekistan. So far, the amount of 1.3 million euros has already been spent," the report says.
As reported, KNAUF also plans to change the design of Rotband plaster packaging in the coming months. One of the reasons is that KNAUF, as a foreign investor, suffers from counterfeiting, the report said. while current penalties are not able to stop the violation of intellectual property rights.
The company's second gypsum production was put into operation in late 2019. The launch of an additional dry mix line is scheduled for August 2020. The modernization, which carried out, will increase the production volume of KNAUF plasters and fillers up to 200,000 tons per year.
