Azerbaijan, Baku, March 17 / Trend , U.Ismayilova/

The Azerbaijan State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) is against of applying rotating schedule of pension payments, SSPF Insurance Pension Policy and Strategic Research Department Head Elman Mehdiyev said. [The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) made this proposal.]

"Such a financing schedule will cause pensioners' dissatisfaction," Mehdiyev said.

Mehdiyev said this dissatisfaction will be fair, because all pensioners will want to receive pensions simultaneously and in time.

"This will be incorrect from social protection point of view," Mehdiyev said.

The state fund as a customer fulfills all its obligations for timely pension supply. "We believe if bank-agents fulfill their function, a problem will not arouse," Mehdiyev said.

Meanwhile, the IBA said issuing pensions on one day leads to emergence of problems, such as a big queue near ATMs, fast finish of their money which causes pensioners' dissatisfaction. In this respect, the IBA offered the SSPF to divide issuing pensions on days that the process will have a territorial character. In other words, pensions will be disused in different times which enables to eliminate queues near ATMs.

IBA has already installed 600 ATMs countrywide, nearly 3,000 POS-terminals in the various trading posts and 60 information kiosks

Pensioners number 1.26 million people in Azerbaijan and 1.03 million of them receive pensions via plastic cards.

Automation of pension payments comprises 100 percent in Baku and roughly 90 percent - in regions.
