Georgia's National Bank and Kazakh agency on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Markets and Financial Organizations sign memorandum

On Thursday the National Bank of Georgia and Kazakh agency on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Markets and Financial Organizations will sign a memorandum of understanding in Astana, the National Bank of Georgia said.

The document will be signed by president of the National Bank of Georgia Giorgi Kadagidze and Chairman of the supervisory agency Elena Bakhmutova.

The memorandum provides the reliability of banks and non-bank lending institutions in the territories of Georgia and Kazakhstan, and their stable functioning. It aims to reach an agreement on the need to exchange information and mutual cooperation in other areas of banking supervision.

In accordance with the memorandum, the mutual cooperation of the parties provides for the implementation of the recommendations of the Basel Committee on the consolidated and comprehensive supervision of supervisors.

Today two Kazakh bank - "Khaliq Bank of Georgia" and "BTA Bank" operate on the banking market of Georgia.
