Kazakh car plant Asia Auto has started manufacturing off-road car KIA Sorento 2013, the plant reported on Monday.
Asia Auto became the third KIA Sorento 2013 producer in the world. Earlier production of this kind of car was launched at KIA Motors plants in Korea and the US.
Car plant Asia Auto located in Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was founded in 2002 and it is the largest car producer in Kazakhstan. The factory's partners include such world's leading corporations as Volkswagen Group, General Motors, Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ and KIA Motors. In the first half of 2012 Asia Auto produced 6,547 cars, exceeding production of the same period of 2011 by 2.5 times.
