Iran's trade turnover in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, amounted to $65.5 billion, the Fars News Agency quoted Iranian Customs Administration Head Abbas Memarnejad as saying on Saturday.
The country conducted transactions with 150 countries during the mentioned period of time, he noted.
Exports stood at $28 billion, while imports surpassed $37.4 billion in the 8-month period, he added.
UAE, China, and Turkey were the main exporters to Iran, while Iraq, China, and UAE were the main importers of Iranian goods, he said.
First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi announced in January that Iran's overall non-oil trade balance is anticipated to reach zero in the current Iranian calendar year.
Iran's annual trade turnover is projected to reach $160 billion by the end of the fifth five-year development plan (March 2016).
